🧹 Broom

Privacy Policy · Last updated September 2026

In plain language

Broom cleans up your photos and videos on your own phone. There is no server, no account, and no upload. We never see your camera roll. The only outside connection Broom makes is to Google's ad service, which is what pays for the app being free.

What Broom does

Broom shows you the images and videos already on your device, one at a time, so you can decide what to keep and what to delete. When you sweep something away, Broom deletes it from your device's media library, the same as if you deleted it from your Photos or Gallery app.

All of this happens entirely on your phone. Broom does not have a server, does not create an account for you, and has no way to upload, back up, or transmit your images or videos anywhere.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect, see, or store copies of your images, videos, or their contents. We do not know what's in your camera roll, and we couldn't tell you if we wanted to.

Broom keeps a small amount of information only on your own device, such as how many items you've swept and which folders you've already sorted, so the app can pick up where you left off. This never leaves your phone, and uninstalling Broom removes it completely.

Advertising

Broom is free to use and supported by ads shown through Google's AdMob service. Showing an ad requires Google to process some technical information about your device, such as an advertising identifier, general location (like your country), and app usage signals, so the ad can be selected and measured. Broom does not access this information itself and does not connect it to your images or videos in any way.

You can review or reset your advertising identifier, and adjust ad personalization, from your device's own privacy settings. For details on what Google collects and how it's used, see Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses AdMob data.

Permissions Broom asks for

PermissionWhy Broom needs it
PhotosTo show you your images, one at a time, so you can keep or sweep them away.
VideosSame as above, for videos, plus generating a small preview frame so a card shows what the video is before you decide.

Broom does not request access to contacts, location, microphone, camera, or any other personal data.

Children's privacy

Broom is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ad personalization is disabled for any user Google detects as under the age of consent, per Google's own policies.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the update will be posted at this same address with a new "last updated" date. Continuing to use Broom after a change means you accept the update.
